The apartment accurately matched the website
description and was of a high standard, clean and airy. It was well-equipped
with many unexpected touches like the extending shaving mirror in the
bathroom.
Contrary to an earlier website comment - no
satellite tv (apparently lost when everything went to digital), but this
didn't mar a very enjoyable holiday; still tv and video and plenty of good
eating places in the evenings.
There was very good access to the many excellent
beaches along the west coast for which the parking was adjacent and entirely
free.
We took up Kevin's offer of booking our car ferry
tickets with Condor: Poole - St. Peter Port return. The rate he could obtain
as a hotelier and passed on entirely to us was considerably cheaper than
anything we could obtain ourselves. It saved a lot of hassle as well.
We took our bikes over - declare your car as a
high vehicle for the ferry (£41 charge, but has benefits: you get off the
ferry first as you're loaded last!) and thoroughly enjoyed doing 5 of the
12 or so published circular cycle tours covering different parts of the island
mainly along quiet country lanes. Typically 10 miles each.
